Southern California shaken by moderate tremor

Malibu epicenter reported, no injuries

A moderate earthquake struck the Los Angeles area on Wednesday, shaking buildings and sending residents scrambling for cover.

The quake, which registered a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale, was centered near Malibu and occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or major damage. However, the quake was felt across a wide area of Southern California, including Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake was relatively shallow, occurring at a depth of only about 6 miles.

Shallow earthquakes tend to be more strongly felt than deeper ones. The USGS said there is a low probability of aftershocks following the quake.

Residents in the affected area are advised to check for any damage to their homes or property.

If you experience any injuries or see any damage, please report it to your local authorities.
