Canes Move To 0 For 15 On The Power Play

Carolina Hurricanes Take 3-0 Series Lead After Another Overtime Victory

Canes Move to 0-for-15 on the Power Play

Raleigh, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes took a commanding 3-0 lead in their first-round playoff series against the New York Rangers with a 3-2 overtime victory on Sunday night.

Andrei Svechnikov scored the game-winning goal 6:07 into overtime, giving the Hurricanes their first win of the series. The Canes had lost the first two games of the series at home, but they have now won two straight on the road.

The Hurricanes are now 0-for-15 on the power play in the series, but they have been able to generate offense at even strength. They have scored 10 goals in the three games, including three in the overtime victory.

The Rangers have been unable to keep up with the Hurricanes' offense. They have scored just four goals in the series, and they have been outshot by a wide margin in each game.

The Hurricanes will look to close out the series in Game 4 on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers will need to win to avoid being swept out of the playoffs.
